I moved out today and live roughly two hours off campus and I must say my prevailing feeling is just complete exhaustion from the stress of the last few days and the upcoming stress as I await my COVID test result whilst quaratining. I do not think I am in a reasonable position to keep up with a full workload of classes given the circumstances and my mental health and I actually think I'm doing relatively well compared to students with more severe mental dispositions than even my own anxiety. I've heard of students who haven't slept in days and are struggling to eat. That's not even mentioning students that have actually been exposed or had the virus, had to travel far away to return home or feel stranded and lonely on campus as all their friends leave and their families are far away. The fact that I feel like this and I'm almost the best off here means pretty much everyone is struggling hard right now and could really use a week or two to sort through things, reacclimate to their new settings and ease their anxieties. I think canceling classes for at least this week and perhaps next week is the best step for a student body that is really struggling right now.
