I am struggling to stay afloat. My mental health is already suffering from all the recent changes, not being able to be on campus, lack of social interaction, stress in meeting deadlines for my class, financial stress, inability to get a work-study job, and so much more. We won't even be having ANY breaks this semester due to it being moved up earlier and ending earlier. I am terrified of the burnout that's to come. I think now more than ever students should have the option to pass/fail their classes. I also think it's important for this to be communicated to students ASAP as a lot of students need to make difficult decisions about their schedules, what they can handles, and plan for the future thinking about how the pandemic will continue to impact their lives. Pass/Fail wold alleviate so much of this stress that we are having. I also think the school should think a little bit more carefully about how their decisions impact out of state/international students. I appreciate school being closed fro two days, but it's not so easy for students to pack up and leave. Many have to find flights, bus tickets, or any other mode of transportation to get back home and two days is not enough time. You cant expect students to uproot in such a small amount of time and still be expected to succeed in classes. I think many students in similar situations are being put at a disadvantage and p/f ( maybe even added breaks) will help so so much!
